Privacy Policy
Intelligent Translator (IT)
Last updated: September 25, 2025
Short version: We respect your privacy. The IT app processes only the information needed to provide its core features (floating overlay lens, screenshots you select, opening a web view for translation/AI assistance), and gives you clear controls to manage your data.
Our Commitment
We care about your privacy. IT is designed to minimize data collection, maximize transparency, and give you practical control over your information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what rights you have. Where applicable, we align with leading regulations such as GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and POPIA (South Africa).
What We Collect
- App diagnostics: crash logs, performance metrics, and basic device data to improve stability and quality.
- Optional inputs you provide: text you enter for translation/search and any prompts you choose to send.
- Local media you pick: screenshots/photos you explicitly select for processing. We do not access your media without your action.
- History (on-device): when enabled, IT may save a copy of images you process to a local
IT_History
folder so you can revisit them later. You can turn this off or delete items at any time inside the app or your device’s file manager.
We do not sell personal data. We avoid collecting personally identifiable information unless strictly necessary for core functionality or legal compliance.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the overlay lens, image selection, cropping, and translation features you request.
- To operate in-app web views that load third‑party translation/AI services at your direction.
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable laws and app‑store policies.
Where Your Data Stays
- On your device: screenshots/photos you select and copies saved in
IT_History
stay local unless you choose to share or upload them. - Third‑party sites you open: when you use the in‑app WebView to access services (e.g., ChatGPT or search engines), any data you submit there is governed by those services’ own privacy policies.
Permissions
Depending on how you use the app, IT may request:
- Draw over other apps (overlay): to show the floating lens.
- Media/photos: to let you choose screenshots/images to process.
- Notifications: to let you hide/show the widget and return to the lens quickly.
- Internet: to open web pages for translation/AI assistance.
Permissions are used only to deliver the features you invoke. You can revoke them in your device settings.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not share your data with advertisers. When you use the in‑app WebView to load external services, your activity there is subject to those providers’ terms. You can review their policies here:
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. Data is retained only as long as needed for the stated purposes or legal obligations.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data. You may withdraw consent for optional features at any time in the app settings.
Children’s Privacy
IT is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us to request deletion.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as we add features or respond to regulatory changes. We will update the “Last updated” date above. If you disagree with any change, you may stop using the app and contact us to exercise your rights.
